My fellow Soldiers of Love,
This is Guy Keltner writing to you on behalf of shotty (emphasis on the lower case s, because one day, shotty will be a household word, as a synonym for love!). I'd like to discuss the current state of affairs within our group, and perhaps shed some light on what it's like to be a struggling, working musician to those of you who don't already know.
Notably, we played our one hundreth show back in July. It was a night to remember, and our performance took place at the KTUB, the scene of our very first performance. Just recently in November we played another gig at the same venue with Sound Off winners New Faces, and previous participants Don't Tell Sophie. Also a night to remember.
Aside from our KTUB gigs, we've been consistently performing at venues all over town, trying to get our names out there and garner some fans. I feel we haven't played a bad gig in several months, but I'm sure some could argue against that.
Over the next few months we will be working on a variety of projects, including getting better at being professional musicians, and continue to sink our teeth into the Seattle rock community. It has been pretty cool befriending pro musicians the past few months, such as Randy Hansen (Hendrix guru!), Steve Fossen and Roger Fisher (Heart members), and former governor Mike Huckabee (we wouldn't have voted for him for president, but he was definitely a cool dude!).
We will be recording and releasing a bunch of quality new songs, and hopefully will finally get that radio play we've seeking. I'll be keeping everyone posted on our progress as we move along.
Finally, we have shows coming up at EMP Sky Church (Nov. 14th) and the Old Firehouse in Redmond (Nov. 21st). These will be large events, and I can only hope that the audiences have as much fun as we do!
Love always,
♫Guy Keltner
